Some of the Extra legroom seats are located near the emergency exit doors and are subject to the flight safety guidelines from the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong. The seats can only be allocated to fully mobile passengers who will not hinder the evacuation process. Therefore the following passengers are restricted for being allocated in those seats:
- Wheelchair / Handicapped passengers
- Elderly or frail
- Infants and children under the age of 18 (whether accompanied or not)
- Pregnant mothers or those who needs an extension seat belt
- Deportees

1. The Extra legroom seats which are located near the emergency exit doors are subject to the flight safety guidelines from the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong. The following passengers are restricted for being allocated in those seats:
-Wheelchair / handicapped passengers

-Infants and children under the age of 18 (whether accompanied or not)
-Pregnant mothers or those who needs an extension seat belt
-Deportees
2. The seats are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis subject to availability.
3. Extra legroom seats cost an additional HKD220/500/850 (USD28/64/109) or equivalent in local
4. Website Extra Legroom Seats reservation is available out of 48 hours prior to flight Departure, please come to Hong Kong Airlines check-in counter at airport for your purchase within 48 hours of flight departure
5. All the charges for the booking of Extra legroom seats cannot accrue for Fortune Wings Club points.
6. The Extra legroom seat is non-transferrable and non-refundable.
7. Hong Kong Airlines has the sole discretion to determine whether a passenger meets the requirements to sit on an Extra legroom seat. We have the right to reassign a regular Economy seat to the passenger without refund of the additional Extra legroom seat reservation charge if he or she does not meet the safety requirements.
8. In in exceptional cases, Hong Kong Airlines will refund to passenger if the Extra legroom seat is not utilized:
-The flight is canceled by Hong Kong Airlines
-The Extra legroom seat is unavailable when passengers change to another flight.
-HX flights delayed and affect the connection of another HX flight.
